Care Work

I accompany individuals and communities through moments of transformation and crisis so that people can move through the embodied mess of being human with support and dignity. Too often, people are left to tend to their bodies and needs in isolation, which only makes things harder. Studying disability justice and somatics, I work to weave in practices that strengthen community bonds, encourage people to lean on each other, and ground in the certainty that we are all deserving of care, no matter how beautifully complex our needs and desires might be.

Some recent efforts include:

  • Training to become a doula so that I can support birthing people through their labor.

  • Designing and facilitating an embodied grounding ritual for Trans Day of Visibility with the Astoria Trans Collective.

  • Coordinating someone’s post-surgery care plan after their gender affirming surgery.

  • Organizing with a care collective to support our disabled friend with housing, food, and medical care.

  • Supporting accessibility planning and logistics for 100+ person community gatherings.
